My company wants to relocate me to the UK (London
specifically). We own 6 ferrets and everything that I've
heard, along with what information I could find online, says
that ferrets would have to go through a 6 month quarantine
if we did move.
Our worry is that due to the age of our ferrets, they might
night live through the quarantine. As it is, we are worried
that they might get too stressed and fail to live through the
actual move. But then, to add on to that, having to be
quarantined for 6 months is adding on to that worry fairly
significantly.
So I'm wondering if anyone has any practical experience
moving ferrets to the UK from another country, particularly
from the US. If so, what was that experience?
thnx,
Christoph

Hi Christopher,
I live in the UK. I used to live in the USA. When we moved (many years
ago now) we had to put our cat into quarantine. It effected him
mentally. He'd do weird things like jumping on the stove and trying to
take boiling food out of the pot. Stealing tomatoes etc..
I understand that some animals can come into the UK and NOT go through
the 6 month quantine, if they meet certain requirements. There is a
passport for pets.
Here is a link, that hopefully will tell you all you need to know.
