| I currently have a 4 year old lab/beagle mix and Murphy. He is about 55 pounds, so he is a good size dog. He is extremely friendly and energetic. He has never attacked our other dog, Pudge or a human. Pudge is a beagle and weighs about 30 pounds. (Why do you think we call him pudge?) In the past two months, Murphy has become extremely aggressive with other dogs outside of the house. He bit one dog. However, it culminated last night into him actually attacking another dog and killing it. The dog was being walked by my parents and the other dog came running up. Murphy snatched the dog and wouldnt let go for about 10 seconds. Is there anything that we can do? Or should we just put him to sleep? I have been heartbroken at the thought of having to put him down. I have called about 20 local shelters, however, none will take him. Please respond. Thank you. |

I* am so sorry you are faced with this problem. However I feel that if you keep he will end up with it happening again even if you muzzel the dog. There is alway the chance he could get out and do it again or even attack a human trying to defend their dog.
If he killed in 10seconds his bite must be very powerful. I am sorry but the only adavice I can give is to have him put down. That is why other shelters will not take the chance with him. |
