This is highly frowned upon by the bird community. These two are
different species and we must protect the gene pool for it to remain
pure. There are no more lovebirds being imported to our country and
what we have is all we will have.

Some people say it's alright to hybridise as long as you inform the buyers
that the animal in question is a hybrid

Cross breeding species:I have never heard anyone say it is alright to
cross breed hybrids. This makes very mixed up birds with each having
their own traits, what are they supposed to follow and how will they
know how to function and make the right nests, feed their young etc.
They all have different traits and besides that why would anyone want
to intentionally do that instead of breeding pure species? JMHO, Deb
