Howard Voren isn't the only person who needs help.
Bob and Liz Johnson of the "Shyne Foundation," a quarter acre free flight
sanctuary, very near Voren, sustained substantial damage. This is a cause I'm
passionate about.
They still don't have power, or land phone service, and are rarely able to get
cell phone calls through. They are buried under trees and debris, and with
another possible hurricane on the way, It's not looking good. Fortunately, the
birds are all okay. Liz says they are going to need a professional crew of tree
trimmers, with chain saws. Then they will need to have the screening done
professionally, as they have 16 ft. high sloping beams. Then comes the
re-roofing. I know that this will be very costly to them. Bob does his own
aviary wiring, which held up very well.
