oh dear! have i paired two male zebras? - CLICK HERE for the Pet Manual Forum Home Page
Sam
hi there,

i am a bit worried that my zebras which i have been trying to breed
for months are not male and female. the person at the petshop was
adamant that they were male & female.

they have almost identical coloring and look like the bird on the
left in this jpg http://www.zebrafinch-society.org/i...otos/graypr.jpg

except that on one bird the 1cm under the beak is not striped like in
the picture but is white.their breasts are both zebra pattern like in
the picture.

No eggs have been laid yet but i put a marble in their nest and they
both spend half the day huddled on it and rest of the time asleep
huddled on a pertch.they have become so emotionally attached to each
other i cant belive they are not male and female.

What do you think? thanks for reading my post,

Sam

If both look like the one on the left you have two males. Females don't
have the orange cheek patches

If you have two males which have bonded that is fine. You could name them
after the 2 chaps in Will and Grace.:0)
