Yes, the gas. Parrots do not burp or fart and the gas can do damage to
them. On top of this, soda has vast amounts of sugar and other chemicals in.
NAsty stuff, drink it yourself if you must, but don't allow Cosmo to poison
himself with the stuff.

My bare-eyed cockatoo is allowed the occasional treat (once a
week or less) of organic apple juice or carrot juice.

I avoid anything made from concentrates.

As others have said I would switch it for juice. My BCC and Macaw both love
fruit juice. Any kind I have ever tried they enjoy, and the Vet had no
problem with them.

It is me that drinks the pop, Cosmo wants to share it. Has lots of fun
trying to get the dribbles out of the can.

Thanks all.

LOL, That sounds familiar!! Both the Conure and Macaw want anything they see
me with. If it's a cup of coffee or a beer I always tell them "your doctor
said none for you". They don't seem to care and continue to try to get some
anyway. <G>

Yeah, same here. Mine would just go crazy for Miller lite if they could just
get their slick little beaks on the bottle.

Used to sit with the neighbors across the street with a Quaker on the
shoulder until the neighbor kept trying to give him beer. Bird would also
get 2nd hand smoke from them because they all smoke. Needless to say, when I
hang out with the neighbors now, no birdies join us.
