Congratulations! I much more fond of chickens than I am of geese. Geese
just scare me! ;-)

Heh..Geese can be downright nasty! We had geese on my grandparent's farm.
Those *******s would chase me all over the place, 'cause I was small. My
grandfather would just kick the snot out of 'em if they attacked him...they
usually kept their distance from him.....guess that means they are smart
too! LOL.

Eww, that reminds me of when we were kids. Had 2 pet ducks. House in
city on 1 itty bitty acre. Not a farm. Also had a swimming pool-the
above ground variety. Then, uninvited, we found we had lots of little
frogs and tadpoles. I think the green water attracted them. We let them
have the pool.

Randy.

I never get close enough for them to actually chase me. There's just
something about a big water fowl that honks and chases people that just
scares the crap outta me. I'm not fond of baboons either. I figure they're
way smarter than me and that scares me even more than geese! lol

I have geese and hae always had geese. Nearly always the noise and hissing
they make is sheer bravado. If you get a really aggressive one who comes at
you with head low and ready to bite, simply grab him quickly around the neck
and turn him around. The neck grabbing is a dominance thing. No need to kick
the poor beasts. No wonder your grandfathers geese were mean, they had a
good reason to be it seems :0(

They are notoriously protective of babies and as long as you avoid
confrontation they won't be a problem generally. ANyway not only do I now
have 2 cute chicks but 3 kittens too hehe. My dixie puss had 3 beautiful
babies yesterday. 2 black and one ginger. Luvley.
