We just bought another female, she was in the same batch that we got Ghost
and Spaz, I want to call her Rat since she does look like one. Here are
the pics

Pam
Nah; She doesn't look like a rat :o) I had 60 rats at one time and
none looked like her :o) They all passed away ...old age. Rats only
live normally 3-5 years.

That's one reason I started rescuing ferrets, they have a much longer
life span.

Pam & The 20 Maniacs

Yayyyyyy............she'll like that a lot better :-)) No doubt you will
too, in the long run.

Uhmmm; Got to disagree :o) I have a gerbil (he's 4-1/2 yrs) when I got
him named him "Happy", he's the miserablist thing I ever had :o) But
would never give him up. He just hates to be bothered with!

Not that anecdotal evidence means much, but the only female fert I've
had over the years was a little bundle my ex and I named "Süßchen,"
which roughly translates as "sweet kid." That demeanor lasted about a
week - at which point she became the alpha queen-high-bitch of ferrets
in our house. :P

yeah well so far sh'e still a mystery, she will go out of her way to go
potty anyplace other then the litterbox, and likes to go under the stairs on
the second level, I put her in the litterbox, and she just doesn't want to
stay in there at all. So we'll see how she does, ohh and the fabric thing,
doesn't work she'll just go on it instead...

You using plenty of soft fabrics and all fluffed up rather than just laying
it out flat? Because if that's the case and she's still going on it, that's
the first tiime I've ever heard of that. Maybe putting a food bowl there
would do the trick?? Surely she won't poop in a bowl of food?

My Kolby is the same way. He has one corner (where I can't fit a litter box
because a ramp meets right there) that he'll poop in no matter what. I've
tried bedding there and he still poops. If I could fit a box there it's be
great, but I guess I'll be resigned to cleaning up his corner the rest of
his life. :)

How can poop laid on the floor above, go into the food dish?

Umm...I can vouch for the ferrets living up to their name. LOL I have a
fert named "Precious" and she really acts like a pampered princess.
"Silk only please under my bottom...your underwear will do just fine...but
don't forget that I need my silk pillow for my delicate head...oh...and I'll
take a few raisins with my afternoon tea."
