Had to say I read some posts and pretty interesting. I have 20 uncaged
ferrets who all get along, now 25 mice, 1 rat (use to rescue rats, but
their life span is too short for me); 1 gerbil. All STRICTLY pets. The
ferrets have the run of the house and I put an addition on for the mice,
gerbil and Curly (the rat). So, rodents do not interact with the
ferrets.
The ferrets range in age from 7 months to 10-1/2 years. I feed the
ferrets a different diet then everyone else. In all the years with
ferrets, I only now have one who is adrenal. She was diagnosed last
year. At that time she WAS 9-1/2 YEARS. Now at 10.4 years, she is
doing great on just her medicine. Hair all grown back and
bouncy/playful like little ones.

Hi, Pam :-)
So what do you feed your ferrets ? I think 10½ is a great age !

I've had several ferrets make it to 8,9,10, 11 and 12. I've had
ferrets only make it to 3, 4, and 5 also.
I've fed various combinations of kitten chow and ferret chow over the
years. Of course, all the dog chow they could steal before I caught
them in the dog's dish.
What are you feeding them? I feed my minks a wider diet than my
ferrets, because mink don't imprint on their food like ferrets do.
The only animal I do a BARF diet for is the skunk since there is no
commercially available food to meet all their nutritional
requirements.
