Hehe.. I had such a great time with Matilde las night, she had her first
bath.. hehe ;)

At first it was all great fun, and water was just great.. but in the
long run.. she'd rather if she could just play with it ;) hehe

But afterwards.. she was.. well.. she is very energetic by nature.. but
the bath didn't help it.. I let her run around in my room so that she
could get all dry.. she was all over the place.. she didn't bother to
dry herself.. she just ran around ;) eventually she was dried by the wind ;)
And I had all that I could do to get her into her cage again.. she just
wanted to play catch ;)

I funny.. all my other ferrets just jumps into whatever they can find to
dry off in when they have had a bath.. but not Matilde.. she likes to
dry in the wind ;)

It sounds like maybe Matilde needs a little more time out of the cage daily?
If they are getting enough time out of the cage, you will know it's time to
put them back in the cage if they fall asleep - usually mine will put
themselves to bed in their cage when they are finished playing. If you are
trying to cage a ferret that doesn't want to be caged, it's most likely
because the ferret has not had enough play time.

just a suggestion...........

Well yeah.. ;) that goes without saying.. She gets enough playtime.. and
yes she puts herself to bed to normally (they all do).. ;)

the thing I tried to say was that I was surprised about the way she
acted when wet, not trying to dry off by rubbing against everything..
that she just ran and ran until she was dry ;) .. that is all ;)

CAGE: A safe haven for free roaming ferrets. Normally only used in case
emergency.

Examples of valid emergencies:

a) ferret who cannot be accounted for during the periodic head count.

b) A visit from children who are not disciplined by their parents...(those
whose children tend to take pleasure in carrying kittens, puppies and
ferrets by their necks)

c) A visit from the anally retentive relative who *swears* that if one of
those "rodents" come near her that she's going to step on it.

d) On a rare occasion, one of the ferrets will become too rough in his/her
play and can't understand the need for the other ferrets to take a
break...cage serves as a "time out" for bad behaviour.

e) The cage is also used when the fuzz butts decide that 3am is playtime.
Feet under covers are fair game. When said feet brush them off the bed,
they take it as a new "game" and jump right back on. This necessitates the
need to turn on the lights and do the ferret scoop by 3:30am.
