OT Got my baby mink - CLICK HERE for the Pet Manual Forum Home Page
KG
Kim (my roommate) and I went to Doug's to get 3 baby mink I had discussed
colors with him on the phone several times. When we arrived he had a
carrier with 3 baby mink in it. One jet black, one blue sapphire and one
crowned white cross.

Here is a link to my other mink pix. Celticmink will include pix of the
colors so you can get an idea about them. Somewhere are pix of how my cage
is put together.

My digicam is dead so I have no way of getting pix uploaded until I used up
a roll of film Maybe Kim will have some time to upload pix of all of them.

Based on Patty's experience of having her babies bond with her, we've
decided to keep the babies separated. All 3 are in their own cages lined up
in the living room in front of the TV. Last night we had stereo chirping.
It seemed that all 3 were chirping at one time or another. Just 15 weeks or
so until they stop chirping.

I took the jet black and the blue sapphire. Kim took the crowned white
cross. The jet black in Kieran, which simply means black. The blue
sapphire is named Kenyon, which means fair haired. Kim found the word blue
in Irish or Gaelic, which is Germ. I didn't like that for a name.

We know Kieran is 5 wks old and going to be a pistol. He spent much of the
evening jumping, climbing and biting at the bars of his small cage. I'm
going to see if he'll stay in a ferret playpen. He is too little too run
through the house. He will fit under the stove and behind the china
cabinets. Kenyon slept.

We go to the vet today for a well visit.
