coccidia treatments - help please! - CLICK HERE for the Pet Manual Forum Home Page

Ok, last night when I got home from work I noticed that Indy was very
lethargic. I checked
her weight and saw that she dropped 3 ounces from the previous night. We
quickly took
her to the emergency clinic and they did an x-ray and fecal exam. While we
were there they
took her temperature and she let loose quite a bit of loose bright green
stool.
The x-ray didn't show any blockages. The fecal exam shows coccidia. I'm
giving her .4 ml
of Albon and I was told to give the other ferrets the same dose.
Indy isn't too happy right now. She will sip a little water and I'm going to
get her some
Gerber chicken baby food and see if she will eat that per instructions I
found on Dr. Bruce
Williams how to feed a sick ferret.

Our regular vet is closed on Thursdays so I'm planning on bringing her in on
Friday and
see if they can help. Until then what else should I be doing?

Thanks,
-Mark
