ProHeart 6 Recalled by FDA - CLICK HERE for the Pet Manual Forum Home Page

This six-month injected heartworm preventive has been recalled by the
FDA. As the company has been told to re-work the product, I don't look
for it to be available again for a loooong time. With it's reputation,
it may be gone for good,,,, or would be renamed....

See the recall notice at www.proheart6.com/

Beware: someone on an email list I belong to said that their vet told them
it is only a few lots being recalled and that the remaining lots are fine
and he is going to continue administering ProHeart 6! I don't think we are
out of the woods yet:-( It seems obvious to me it is all ProHeart 6 lots.
Re-working a product would not include specific lots, would it? That would
involve some sort of contamination. Why would this vet do this?

There had been a recall on at least one lot about 2 months ago and at the
time it was still ongoing. Is it possible that the vet in this case was
referring to that instance or possibly doesn't know that there's been a
voluntary wholesale recall?
