Ohh it looks like ECE his Bowl movements are all slimey, I segregated him
for now from the other two, and we'll see how he does in the next couple
days, he looks so sad but I don't want the other two in the same cage with
him when he's sick. So he's on a special diet for now and we'll see what
develops...

jumpingmouse02@earthlink.net
Just went thru this. Lots and lots of pedialyte, a medicine called Centrine
stops the diarrhea (at least it did here); if he starts vomiting, get him to
a vet for subQ fluids. Hills a/d watered down with acidophillus has been
working here...not only gets in a little nutrition, but fluids and healthy
bacteria for the bowel. Be sure to watch him close....diarrhea or
vomiting can run a ferret downhill to death's door in 24 hours if not
treated. Good luck.......

yeah he's eating fine, and drinking still so we'll see how it goes tomorrow,
I mixed his hard food with some soft food and he's gone at it 2 times so
far, and still drinking, I gave him a little pepto bismal so we'll see how
he is tomorrow.. he just looks so depressed, but when I take him out he
just wants to run, I think I'll let them all play tomorrow morning, I just
let the other 2 play tonight, he played for a while then curled up and went
to sleep so I put him in his cage and he went right back to sleep, so I'll
check on him tomorrow... I forgot the pedialite when I went to the store, so
I'll get some tomorrow.

Get the smallest containers of pedialyte (single serving 8 oz or so) that
you can. It's only good for 48 hours after opening it. I once had little
packets you could mix with water and make very small amounts at a time.
This time I got little single serving (for a child, of course) orange flavor
and they both really like it and with readily drink it on their own when
offered from a syringe (without the needle of course). Just put it in the
side of their mouth and slowly drip it in.

Good luck with the little guy.

Well after getting up this morning, his stool looks normal, and he was
scarfing his food down, so he's out playing with the other two right now,
so hopefully he's feeling much better now, between yesterday when I put the
fod in his cage and this morning he ate 2/3 of it so I am thinking he might
pull through this one just fine...

Still a good idea to give him supplemental fluids for a few days after
everything returns to normal. His body is still weak and they can easily
relapse. I'm still giving my kids extra fluids and they've had normal poops
for two days now. Just about to discontinue tho. Also, since he had bad
diarrhea, he will need some acidophillus to get the healthy bacteria back up
in his bowels. That's why I'm still giving my kids watered down warm a/d
with a capsule of acidophillus opened up and mixed in. Do that twice a day
for a couple of days before you stop supportive care. Just a suggestion.

Yeah e's all over that Cherry pedialite, and playing with everyone, I am
thinking Fearless might be coming down with it now, as hers looked kind of
runny, so we'll see how she does, mischief is hanging in there and appears
just fine...
