We've got "real" kids now! :-O I need the room, and I don't have
the time that I used to. :(
Small bird hobbyist (8-10 birds) needs to downsize!
For sale:
Excellent pair of proven white-cap Pionus parrots. Domestically bred,
banded, young, very healthy. About 6 years old. Have had several
clutches of excellent babies '00-'02. We didn't let them nest last
year because of the afore mentioned... :( Need to find them good
homes. This pair is very bonded as they've been together since they
were little. The male is from one of my own clutches, I got the
female from another local breeder the same year. Very sweet, but not
"hand tame". Been on a pelleted diet (10% seed), lots of fruit and
vegs too. Very pampered, excellent pair. The male does NOT
over-preen the female's head either! (common problem w/ breeding
pionus pairs). $500 for the pair only.
Also:
1 proven female breeder WC Pionus hen. Mother of the male above.
Super sweet hen! I've had her for about 12 yrs. Age unknown, I got
her from a breeder in AZ, I believe she was imported. Lost her mate a
couple years ago (hanging toy accident.) Her head is feather plucked
from previous mate, but a very nice, sweet bird. $100.
1 unproven female WC Pionus hen. Would also make an excellent
companion bird. 5 yrs old, younger sister of above mentioned
male/daughter of above female. I took her back from a lady that had
her as a pet, but had to give her up due to allergies. Very sweet,
was very hand-tame but I haven't had the time to handle her lately as
much as she needs. Very healthy, no feather plucking! Confident
she'd make excellent breeder or pet. $150.

offers. These are well-taken-care of, I love my birds. I just don't
have the time/room anymore. Kinda like "selling the convertible" when
