I just had Belle chipped today. It was quick, easy and required no
sedation to the bird. My other bird is chipped with an Avid chip, but
Belle was chipped with a 'HomeAgain' chip, even though my other bird,
Kiwi, uses an Avid chip.

I just finished registering her number through the AKC website for
$12.50, which is less than the $15.00 Avid charges for a single pet:

I was kind of scared when he showed me the chip, but the procedure
took less than 5 seconds and the bird didn't scream, cry or make any
noise so the experience was quite satisfactory @ this end.

Between 040114 and 040118 she was:

* DNA Tested
* Polyoma
* Chlamydia
* Bacteria & Cultures
* Chipped
* PBFD

and a few other tests were run where I don't remember their name.
Quite a tab!

I'll respond in the other threads in a few minutes as I just got back
from my little 'weekend adventure' with the bird.

ps. oldmolly - thanks for the avianbiotech information, as I could of
