I'm not entirely certain that the vet we use is as up on ferrets as he might
be. If anyone knows of THE local ferret doc in the Oklahoma City area, I'd

Tom,
I don't know what your veterinary resources are in OkCity but if you are
ever in need of surgical care of a fuzzy,the University of Mo.in
Columbia,MO.does them for near cost of meds. It would be a full day drive
but the cost saving and the fact of them having the latest info.might be
worth it. I haven't needed the services myself but a vet.friend claims they
are the best vet care for ferts in the central Midwest.
My personal experience with vet schools is with the University of Illinois
in Champaign IL. I took several horses there for surgeries and the results
were better than the large animal hospital near by. In fairness to the
hospital,they usually get the animals in near-death emergencies.
Just an option to consider.
