I only know Dr. Lewington by email, but I reviewed this book when it
first came out, and I highly recommend it to all ferret lovers because
of the husbandry information. I have the other books in the list, and
they are full of wonderful technical information for those who want it,
but Lewington's book is written in a very conversational, understandable
style that is helpful to all of us. Much of the vet information is not
really standard practice here in the US, but the book is worth it just
for his description of his "ferretarium", which is his escape-proof,
backyard ferret habitat with tunnels and pools and hidey-holes, plus
pipes leading into his house. It sounds like a ferret paradise, and I
want to build one just like it if I ever win the lottery.
